Questions
Do I need a licence to paint houses?
In NSW, yes for jobs over $5,000 including labour and materials, and Queensland has its own threshold. Check your state's rules before quoting larger jobs.
How do I quote per square metre?
Measure each surface, apply your rate per m² for the number of coats, add prep and access. The calculator turns that into a total and shows the rate behind it.
How much paint per square metre?
Roughly 12 to 16 m² per litre per coat for most acrylics; use the figure on the tin for your product.
Does the invoice meet ATO rules?
Yes. It shows your ABN, the date, a description, the price and the GST, which is what a tax invoice needs.
