- Provinces license pest control operators: in Ontario, a structural exterminator licence and an operator licence; BC and other provinces have their own certificates.
- Product registration
- Products used must carry a Pest Control Products Act registration number, recorded on every application.
- GST/HST
- 5% GST, or HST at 13% in Ontario and 14% to 15% in Atlantic Canada, once you pass $30,000 over four quarters. Quebec adds 9.975% QST.
- Cosmetic bans
- Ontario and Quebec restrict cosmetic pesticide use on lawns and gardens; structural pest control inside and around buildings is separate.
