What it does
- Invoices: paid, unpaid and overdue at a glance
- Expenses by category, month and quarter
- Mileage log at your own rate per mile or km
- Set-aside % of profit for tax (you choose the %; not tax advice)
- Works in Google Sheets and Excel; any currency

What a freelancer needs to track
- Invoices: sent, paid and unpaid, with overdue ones flagged using your payment terms.
- Expenses: by category (software, equipment, travel, fees...) so totals are ready at tax time.
- Mileage: distance times the rate you choose per mile or km.
- Tax set-aside: a percentage of profit you move to a separate account each month.
Choosing a set-aside percentage
The template does not calculate tax. You type the percentage you want to put aside, and it shows the amount per month and quarter. The right percentage depends on your country, income and deductions; your tax authority's guidance or an accountant can tell you. This is a record-keeping tool, not tax advice.
A 10-minute weekly routine
- Add any invoices you sent and mark the ones that were paid.
- Add expenses from your bank or card statement.
- Log trips. Check the Dashboard for unpaid and overdue invoices.
